Vintage FADA Model 119 Art Deco Bakelite Tube Radio 1930s Untested Parts Repair. Vintage FADA Radio Model 119 Universal Superheterodyne tabletop tube radio, fresh from an estate and offered in as-found, untested condition. Great Art Deco styling with a black molded cabinet, contrasting brown/tan speaker cloth and attractive illuminated-style square dial. Original FADA identification label remains on the underside and identifies this as Model 119, 115 volts, manufactured by F. Radio & Electric Co. Long Island City, New York. Measures approximately 14-1/2″ wide x 7-1/2″ deep x 8-1/2 high. This radio had reportedly been stored in a garage for many years and was quite dirty when found. Only the first layer of surface dirt has been wiped away; it has not been thoroughly cleaned, polished, restored or electrically tested. The rear cabinet/back plate is missing, as is the carrying handle from the top. The chassis and internal components are exposed at the rear. Cabinet has accumulated dirt, dust, scratches, scuffs and other age/storage wear. Speaker cloth shows age and discoloration. Dial, knobs and interior components appear as shown. Please assume that additional service, cleaning and/or restoration will be necessary. Due to the age of the original electrical components and wiring, the radio should be inspected by a qualified technician before attempting to power it on.
