The original foam inside the battery cover that holds the batteries firmly in position has deteriorated over time. Because the foam no longer provides sufficient pressure, the battery connection is fragile/intermittent. Replacing the deteriorated foam should help provide a secure battery connection, but no repair is guaranteed. The decorative metal front cover has separated because the original adhesive dried out with age. The cover is included and can likely be reattached with suitable adhesive. Headphones are not included (They were used for testing sound from radio). No guarantees are made regarding complete electronic performance until the battery-retaining foam is replaced.
