Vintage Pioneer SK-350 Portable Stereo Boombox – For Parts / Repair / Restoration. This classic Pioneer SK-350 “Runaway” boombox has been basic bench-tested. It is a fantastic candidate for a restoration project or a vintage audio technician. Tested Functionality & Technical Findings. Power: Unit powers on successfully via AC power. Audio Output / Speakers: Both speakers are functional. Note: The function selector switch is finicky; you must toggle or settle it very gently into position to get clear audio output from both channels simultaneously. The internal contacts likely need a standard electronic contact cleaner treatment. Cassette Deck: The tape deck motor runs and will play a cassette, but it immediately attempts to “eat” the tape. The rubber belts have stretched/degraded over time and will need to be replaced. Overall Cosmetic & Mechanical Condition. The unit appears to be a great restoration candidate that primarily needs a deep internal cleaning, contact cleaning on the switches, and a fresh set of cassette drive belts. Please look closely at all photos to evaluate the cosmetic condition. We are not professional audio technicians, so we have described its behavior to the absolute best of our ability.
