Vintage Kenwood TS-930 Amateur Radio / Transceiver. The power went off and I immediately replaced the rig with another rig to continue the contest. Later during the week after the contest I opened the rig and found that the fuse on the AVR board was open. I do not know if it took out the finals or if the fuse was fast acting enough. I have read various threads that said it could be either. It is important to note that I was NOT transmitting when the fuse opened so its possible the finals are good. I honestly don’t know and I have a half dozen other rigs so this has to go. I did change the fan on the power supply side a few years ago. The power supply is the original Kenwood PS which is known to fail eventually. K6IOK sells the replacement supply so if the finals are good its worth the upgrade. This rig was really good to me, I owned it for 3 years and used it in several contents and all functions and displays worked fine up until the time the fuse opened. Thanks and 73’s.
