For sale is a vintage Mopar push button chrome radio with a beautiful turquoise grill for the 1949 and 1950 Plymouth. The 1949 and 1950 cars are the first newly designed cars after the assembly lines at Ford, GM and Chrysler were commandeered by the US government for the WWII war effort. This radio has a futuristic chrome face with curved lines. This was Chrysler’s high end radio for its Plymouth line. The radio appears to be in great overall condition. It bears a service tag (see photo) from 1962. The radio has its power cord and antenna line intact. The fuse in the power cord is still good. There is some minor pin size oxidation specs on the chrome. The bottom cover for the radio is missing as shown in the photo. I have used it as a book shelf ornament on my desk. It should be great for a restoration of that Plymouth or as a beautiful shelf ornament reminiscent of America’s new streamlined design in the first post-war automobiles. I don’t know if it works but it certainly looks well cared for and does not look abused. The radio weighs 15 lbs.
