The radio does work on this boombox, but it’s very scratchy when moving the knobs. VU meters work, but the FM Stereo light seems to be out. It doesn’t seem to get great reception. A tape played for maybe 10 seconds, then it ate the tape. I only tested it on AC power (although the battery compartment is clean) and I did not test any of the inputs. Anyway, I think this one needs some repair work. I’m sure it needs new capacitors and of course the tape deck needs servicing, but it probably needs other repairs. If you are willing to put in the work, take it apart, and clean it up, this is a pretty cool large 80s boombox. Or it’s just great for sitting on a shelf and looking impressively retro.
