1940s Knight Radio – Chicago – Allied Model 6A-127 Well used and loved. Worked until stored 10+ years ago. Don’t want to try to plug it in because cord is frayed and some wires not connected. Like to rewire things? We may eventually find the knobs, I do see the stems in the hole. Cannot guarantee tubes or other parts. Includes original Manual as shown. Case very intact and could be further cleaned. Great for the person who loves to fix old radios! We recycle boxes whenever possible to do our part! All breakables are well packaged. Knight External VFO for Vintage Ham Radio Transmitter for Parts or Restoration. This unit is in pretty good condition for its age showing only some wear. The biggest issue is that the main pin for the connection cable is a bit bent. Also, the cabinet of the unit shows some writing, scuffs, marks, and scratches. Overall, however, the unit doesn’t seem to be in too bad of shape. We have successfully tested the unit for power and also expect it to function normally. The one thing that might need replacement is the aforementioned connector, but other than that everything should be fine. Please realize that this is a vintage piece of equipment, and unless specifically noted above, it has not been fully restored with new components. It will inevitably need maintenance, however it’s impossible to know whether that will be next week or a few years down the road. Unless you are capable of doing this work yourself (or have access to someone who can), we suggest you revisit the idea of whether this is the right equipment for you. Knight VFO for Vintage Ham Radio Transmitter for Parts or Restoration. The piece is in decent condition, although it could benefit from a detailed cleaning. Also, the screws holding the unit into the cabinet are mismatched. This piece is believed to have not been used in many years, possibly decades. We have slowly powered it on with a Variac to allow the capacitors to reform, and have left the unit running at full voltage for approximately two hours. In that time we experienced no smoke or burning odors, and little to no AC hum. We did not test further! It is still very probable that it will need maintenance and will almost certainly require servicing which could include (but not limited to): lubrication and cleaning of controls, alignment, new components such as capacitors or tubes (if present), and so on. Unless you are capable of doing this work yourself, or have access to someone who can, we suggest you revisit the idea of whether this is the right equipment for you.
