So I had a fellow contact me, Chinese, and he informed me on this item, correcting several things, as below…. I took his word for it…….. He said it was circa 1960s but I’d say it could be / looks to be made earlier……….. Vintage and all original circa 1950s – 60s…… Possibly during Korean War……. Original item / electrical machinery aircraft part.. RDF/ RADIO COMPASS (radio directional finder) PANEL. With all the gauges, dials and knobs. And it looks like all the inside parts are intact also. I’ll check this out further and update / confirm as I can. For identification purposes ALSO NOTE the manufacturers embossed SYMBOL STAMP on the right side upper GAUGE. Looks like capital letter H.. In a compass with wings and an anchor on bottom. Holy smokes that looks keen… The knobs all turn, function as they should. Except the large selector knob on the far right edge.. Its a push-down and turn knob, but wont turn didnt force it, and Im surely no expert maybe something tricky.. Otherwise all seems good the crank handle turns and changes the radio dial frequencies the bottom part, looks like aluminum, is still attached and I was reluctant to take it apart.. Measures roughly 7 ½ x 6 ¾ x 2 ½ inches more accurately 192 mm x 171 x 68.. Weighs in at 2 kg. / 4.4 lbs. I got this from a long-time, older, radio collector. He wasnt big on provenance so all he could tell me was he got from a guy long ago who had a bunch of vintage U. Military radio stuff, and this Japanese unit was in that lot, the only such piece. The radio guy told me this was from a WWII JAPANESE BOMBER. In my research it seems too small for a bomber. And it looks much more like an RDF for a fighter plane see j-aircraft dot com / research… Again, Im no expert.. You be the judge. Cost varies as to location. OTHER COUNTRIES Please contact me for an exact price. Please know — a camera lens and flash highlight and even exaggerate faults and damage to an item……………. Hence, in reality the item always looks better than in a photo…….. Go to one of my listings. EBays FEEDBACK in not accurate because most Buyers dont leave Feedback. But its a fact.
