Drake 2-B Vintage Ham Radio Receiver for Parts or Restoration SN 7954. Physically and cosmetically, this receiver is better than most. The faceplate and cabinet are all original and look great. The top of the chassis has a good deal of corrosion, but as you know, this is extremely common for Drake’s copper chassis. You’ll also note there is a tear in the paper that serves as a backdrop to the frequency display. Also included in the sale are some replacement capacitor kits. Despite it’s good looks, this receiver has some electronic issues, as you can read baout in the notes from our tech. This item has been tested by our technician, a ham radio operator of more than 55 years. Here’s what he had to say: This 2-B appears to have been modified, and the crystal calibrator has been removed. The receiver worked well on 80, 40 and 10 meters, however I could not get any audio output on 20 and 15. Please note that you will only receive what included in the photographs below.
