I see a few marks off the black paint where the knobs rest against the faceplate – only around the opening, very minimal. Can not tell you any more than that – I have no way of seeing if it is working, just know it was when removed from car years ago. Surface wear from average use should be expected but nothing more. I want to finish my car project and need this right away. I had one just like it in my old car and want to surprise my wife… She will be just as surprised in a week if she has no idea she is getting it.
